Izraelski mediji: Vojska je preuzela kontrolu nad graničnim područjem Gaze s Egiptom

Početkom svibnja izraelske trupe počele su napredovati u dijelove grada Rafaha na jugu Pojasa Gaze

Prema izvješćima izraelskih medija, izraelska vojska preuzela je kontrolu nad cijelim dijelom pojasa Gaze uz granicu s Egiptom. Izraelske trupe stacionirane su u većem dijelu područja poznatog kao Filadelfijski koridor, 14 kilometara dugog područja uz granicu Egipta i pojase Gaze, izvijestilo je nekoliko medija u srijedu navečer pozivajući se na vojsku.

U izvješćima se navodi da postoji 20-ak tunela koji vode u Egipat na tom području. Hamas je među ostalim koristio tunele za krijumčarenje oružja u Pojas Gaze. Neki od tunela navodno su uništeni. Navodno se na tom cijelom području nalaze ukupno 82 tunela.

Izraelska vojska također je rekla da je otkrila desetke Hamasovih raketnih bacača duž Filadelfijskog koridora.

Početkom svibnja izraelske trupe počele su napredovati u dijelove grada Rafaha na jugu Pojasa Gaze. Zauzele su jedini granični prijelaz prema Egiptu na palestinskoj strani. Izraelske napade na Rafah žestoko je kritizirala međunarodna zajednica jer u gradu žive stotine tisuća palestinskih interno raseljenih osoba.
