Više stotine Palestinaca ozlijeđeno je u ponedjeljak u novim sukobima s izraelskom policijom na Platou džamija u istočnom Jeruzalemu, u nastavku nasilnog tjedna u Svetom gradu. Do novih sukoba došlo je na Dan Jeruzalema kojim se po hebrejskom kalendaru slavi izraelsko osvajanje Starog grada u Šestodnevnom ratu 1967. godine. 

Od ranog jutra stotine, ako ne i tisuće Palestinaca, bacaju projektile na izraelske snage sigurnosti na Platou džamija, trećem najvećem svetištu muslimana, kojeg židovi nazivaju Brdo hrama, prenosi France Presse. Novinar te agencije vidio je nekoliko desetaka ozlijeđenih kako su vozilima hitne pomoći odvedeni s Platoa.

„U sukobima je ozlijeđeno nekoliko stotina ljudi“, od kojih je pedesetak hospitalizirano, objavio je palestinski Crveni polumjesec. 

Izraelska policija priopćila je kako radi na zaustavljanju nasilja na Platou, ali i „u drugim dijelovima Starog grada Jeruzalema“.

„Molitva se nastavlja kao i obično“ na Zidu plača, zapadnom zidu Brda hrama, no „nećemo dopustiti ekstremistima da prijete sigurnosti stanovnika“, dodala je policija. 

U petak navečer je na istom mjestu u sukobima Palestinaca i policije ozlijeđeno više od 200 osoba, većinom Palestinaca. U subotu i nedjelju je na Platou džamija bilo mirno, no dvije strane su se sukobile u drugim dijelovima istočnog, većinski muslimanskog dijela Jeruzalema. U nedjelju je izraelski premijer Benjamin Netanyahu poručio kako će Izrael „nastaviti osiguravati slobodu molitve i neće dopustiti nasilne nemire“. 

„Održat ćemo zakon i red, čvrsto i odgovorno“, kazao je izraelski čelnik koji ovaj mjesec nije uspio formirati vladu i nakon četvrtih parlamentarnih izbora u dvije godine. Prošli je tjedan izraelski predsjednik Reuven Rivlin mandat za formiranje vlade stoga dao Yairu Lapidu, Netanyahuovom centrističkom suparniku. 

Netanyahu je u ponedjeljak branio izraelsko naseljavanje istočnog Jeruzalema, kazavši kako je „Jeruzalem prijestolnica Izraela“.

„Kao što svaka država gradi svoju prijestolnicu, to imamo pravo i mi. To smo radili i to ćemo i činiti“.

Istočni Jeruzalem jedan je od teritorija koje Palestinci žele za svoju buduću državu. Pregovori o nastanku palestinske države, koji su se održavali pod pokroviteljstvom Sjedinjenih Država, prekinuti su još 2014. jer Izrael smatra da je čitav Jeruzalem izraelski glavni grad, status koji velika većina međunarodne zajednice ne priznaje.

Tenzije proteklih tjedana nastale su i zbog prijetnji palestinskim obiteljima u četvrti Šeik Džarah u istočnom Jeruzalemu, kako bi se iselile i oslobodile prostor za židovske stanovnike. O tom pitanju je u ponedjeljak trebalo biti održano saslušanje na Vrhovnom sudu, no otkazano je „u svjetlu aktualnog konteksta“.

Židovski narod prije 4000 godina podigao je Jeruzalem.2000 godina prije islama i džamije na mjestu "Platoua"stajao je hram. Palestina ne postoji.Zemlja koju su Arapi okupirali povijesno se zove Juedaj,Galileja i Samarija. S teroristima Država Izrael neće pregovarat već će se obračunat silom.
