Snažan potres pogodio je središnji Japan u ponedjeljak, uništio zgrade, prekinuo opskrbu električnom energijom u desecima tisuća domova i natjerao stanovnike nekih obalnih područja da se maknu na uzvisine

Najmanje 30 osoba poginulo je u snažnom potresu koji je jučer pogodio Japan, a tisuće ljudi ostalo je bez svojih domova. Potres je oštetio najmanje 1000 kuća u obalnom gradu Suzu, a gradonačelnik Masuhiro Izumiya opisao je posljedice kao "katastrofalne". Riječ je, naime, o gradu sa samo 5000 domaćinstava koji se nalazi u blizini epicentra novogodišnjeg potresa. 

Fotografije iz zraka prikazuju srušene krovove i prevrnute brodove u gradskoj luci, a potres je srušio i lokalni hram te spomenike na grobovima. Spasioci se bore kako bi izvukli još preživjelih iz srušenih zgrada, no to im otežavaju teško oštećene i blokirane ceste. "Moramo se utrkivati s vremenom kako bismo našli i spasili žrtve katastrofe", rekao je premijer Kishida.

"Potvrđena je vrlo velika šteta, uključujući brojne žrtve, rušenje zgrada i požare", rekao je, dodajući da spasioci teško mogu doći do sjevernog vrha poluotoka Noto. Otprilike 33.000 kućanstava hrabro se borilo s niskim temperaturama tijekom noći zbog nedostatka električne energije. Mnogi su gradovi bez tekuće vode.

VEZANI ČLANCI: 

Zbog presječenih cesta u regiji Noto, oko 500 ljudi zaglavljeno je u zračnoj luci grada Wajima, izvijestili su lokalni mediji. Citirajući Ministarstvo zemljišta, infrastrukture, prometa i turizma, kažu da su se putnici, lokalno stanovništvo i osoblje sklonili u unajmljene automobile i turističke autobuse na parkiralištu. Nema ozlijeđenih, ali je nastala šteta na zračnoj luci i pistama, kažu izvješća.

Podsjetimo, snažan potres pogodio je središnji Japan u ponedjeljak, uništio zgrade, prekinuo opskrbu električnom energijom u desecima tisuća domova i natjerao stanovnike nekih obalnih područja da se sklone na uzvisine. Potres preliminarne magnitude 7,6 izazvao je valove visoke oko jedan metar duž japanske zapadne obale i obala susjedne Južne Koreje.
